Window Film
Window film is applicable to different uses including solar heat reduction, UV protection, security, privacy, heat retention and of course for decorative purposes. Often the qualities of heat retention are over looked, but film can be used to effectively insulate against heat loss threw you glass windows. It has been stated that windows account for up to 25 percent of the heat lost from a house, and in the summer can be responsible for up to 25 percent of the heat gained. Finding a solution to help reduce the amount of heat lost in the winter and heat gained in the summer is vital to ensure a comfortable environment. Not to mention the monetary saving by avoiding the use of heating, fans and air conditioning.
Heat retention films are applied to the interior of the window and will considerably reduce the amount of infrared, ultraviolet radiation and visible light that exits from the building via the window. Often these films are dyed or metalized in an attempt to convert solar radiation to infrared radiation, which can easily be rejected by normal glass. This process works by converting the solar radiation into a type of radiation that glass can reject easily, thus improving heat rejection by up to 30 – 50 percent.
